Employers can claim funding to support a newly qualified social worker (NQSW) through the Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) programme and apply for ASYE certification.
At the completion of the programme the employer can request a certificate of completion for each NQSW they have assessed as passing the ASYE programme.
We’re working with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), to offer funding to the employers of adults social workers.
Important Updates - Adults ASYE portal closure
We are writing to share an important update regarding key deadlines for the adult Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) this year.
This funding year we need to ensure all adult ASYE activity, including certification, is completed by 31 March 2026. This means the adult ASYE portal for all updates (completions, deferrals etc.) closed on 28 February 2026.
Further information on the Adults ASYE programme will be provided from DHSC in due course.
Please note that this update does not affect the funding arrangements for 2025/26, the portal still closed for new registrations on 31 January 2026 as usual and that process will remain the same as previous years.
Registration
The new adults ASYE platform is now live. It's open to register and claim funding for NQSWs who have commenced their ASYE between 1 February 2025 - 31 January 2026.
The platform should only be accessed by the nominated primary contact within your organisation. That’s the person responsible for registering/updating the NQSWs’ information on the platform. If the primary contact changes, please email adultsASYE@skillsforcare.org.uk as soon as possible to let us know.
Please note that new primary contacts should not create an account until you’ve contacted ÁÕÀÅÊÓƵ so that we can provide you with a separate activation link.
Certification
To claim a certificate for a NQSW whilst the portal is closed, please email adultsASYE@skillsforcare.org.uk
Can’t see the records?
Please email adultsASYE@skillsforcare.org.uk with the names of the NQSWs completing, their Social Work England number and their completion date.
